My name is Maria. I am a Peruvian woman living in the beautiful Amsterdam city for the last 26 years of my life. I am a Director Secretary by profession. Here in Holland I have done different administrative jobs and I have worked in different industries. I am an active person; in my free time I do sports but I also like sharing and I do volunteer social work. 

My commitment as immigrant, keep me on helping people from different international backgrounds with integration, about the dutch society and in the different aspects in their lives

Last 2 years of my life were quite difficult in my life where I had to face difficult problematic situations which I overcame thanks to the support of ImPower. Now I am happy, I can also help people as a Peer Coach in ImPower by sharing my experiences and insights to empower people in their way to discover abilities and internal resources to develop self-confidence in achieving desirable goals.

Besides of been a Peer Coach at Impower:

• I  give free Spanish lessons. 

• I am a member of the neighborhood board of directors from my neighborhood.

• I am a Gezondheid Ambassadeur, with the support of the Municipality, we contribute to society informing and giving advice to people eat healthy and live a healthy life. We also prepare free healthy lunches for the childrens in the neighborhood. 

• I also work with the Peruvian community to reunite them and make known about our culture in Dutch society organizing Peruvian events. Together with other six ladies, we fundraising for the "Comunidad Peruana en Países Bajos” and we work together with volunteers.
